So I'm waiting on the weather to get with the program of the floor clean and painting job I want to get done and move on. ( Or for the tax return to get here lol ) but anyway I have found a leaky window! 😑😡🤬 They were all fine and good when I got the bus, but I do see it needs some silicone attention. Just more work on the floor when I thought I was off my knees!! 😭 Was going to krudd kutter the grinded floor than a rust paint armor coat flat black after I dried the floor. After paint plan is to cover and seal up holes with silicone and sheats of metal recovered from bus demolition. I got the floor frame material for free two weeks ago. 1x1 or something I just need mother nature to give the green light. The krudd kutter says needs a temp of 21°© (70°F) this week's temp high is 16°© 😖 have any of you used this stuff on cold metal? Results differ?

krudd kutter is just a cleanser with not that great reviews - it's not going to do anything to combat rust, and on bare metal I wouldn't bet against it causing a bloom - I'd suggest using something like Ospho to treat the rust, sweep it off after it dries, then paint with a rust inhibiting primer, then a top coat of a rust preventative paint

Ok thank you for the tip I'll look into that

Thought I took a picture of the window out and all cleaned up but I guess not lol. But I took out the leaky one and cleaned off the old silicone and put a bead around the three edges and the outside some more should be good now... But the rest of them 😫

did you seal where the glass meets the frame? - that's often a trouble area

I didn't reseal the part where the glass meets its frame just where the window unit meets the bus, that's where I found the silicone skrunk and was holding water under that window specifically. Now I'm on a outside sealing spree

Ok will switch it up

Dynatron-550 is your friend. Autozone seems to have the best price, around $15. It's grey, Dynatron-570 is the same stuff in white (both are paintable).

I'm thinking that once upon a time there was a Dynatron-560 which was black, but there seems to be no black version of this stuff (my windows are black which would make it convenient). Anybody know if there's a black Dynatron? I'm not talking about the '70s comic book hero.

So the silicone I put on yesterday seemed to do great and keep the water out during today's raining!! might be a dumb question but why is silicone bad?is it just not going to last as long?
