I just won an auction on Public Surplus for the bus I wanted! I'll be picking her up on Tuesday. It's a 1993 International Carpenter 10 window bus with the 7.3L diesel and AT545 tranny. It has about 174,000 miles on it. I went and drove it the other day. It's pretty sweet! I've been reading and posting to this board for a while now and now I finally have my own bus! Man am I stoked! I'll be sure to post pictures when I get it! I wasn't even this excited about buying my F250. WOO HOO!

Congrats! :D Get us some pictures of the new addition when you can. While some other bus conversion sites don't allow pictures of unconverted buses, I kind of enjoy seeing the before and after.

Congrats on your new bus, makes me feel good that your so excited, I know the feeling. I can't wait till the weather breaks so I can finish my painting. And am looking forward to the pics. You'll need to bring it on down here so we can work on them together, away from the traffic. Hope you don't have to travel too far to pick it up, but if you do, have a great trip. :D

No, the bus is in Norman, only about 15 miles from my house! WOO HOO! I was glad to find one so close to home as I was prepared to fly anywhere in the country and drive one home! Ugh. That would have cost a fortune! Anyways, here's the only pic of the bus that I have right now. Next week I'll get my family out and sit them on the hood and we'll take some pictures! I'm planning to make my own website too once I get going on the conversion. Man I'm stoked! I'm picking up the bus Tuesday morning. I've never looked forward to a Tuesday this much! HA! Oh yeah, I'm about 6'1" tall, and when I'm standing in the bus, I have about 3" over the top of my head! WOO HOO!

Congrats on the new toy. Now the nitemare.....er...fun begins!!

I bought mine via Public Surplus Auctions too, and like you had figured on a long drive to get what I wanted. Fortunately I found my bus in Harrisonburg Va, which is only 5 hours away... rented a car one-way to Harrisonburg, drove the bus home!

I had a longer run, and was a bit aprehensive about the long drive back, but the bus ran like champ the entire way home... Just glad I didn't wind up going half way across the country for the thing!!

HUZZAH FOR YOU! :!: She's a beaut! 8) Your official members jacket with the extra long sleeves and the buckles in the back will be arriving shortly, welcome to the club! Looking forward to seeing more pictures of your yellow rubber room!

Is it just me or do all the Carpenters seem to have their own special shade of school bus yellow? They certainly seem to have the most easily identifiable roof profile with that very very round look. I would think that makes for more usable head room inside.

congrats

congrats on the new bus, we're not too far from you in Tulsa, we're just getting started on our conversion. I'm seeing a possible Skoolie meet in Oklahoma in the future?

It does! I'm guestimating that the head room inside is about 6'4"!
