Those of you who have lived on your skoolie for an extended amount of time. How are you making enough money while on the road?

I have been fulltime since Nov 2006. I didn't move into the bus until Dec 2011.

First, we moved into the Class C because we were tired of me living in TN while David worked in NC, GA and FL. David remodeled houses and I was his "free labour" on occasion and later all the time.

In 2007, the bottom dropped out of the building in our area. So David stepped up his sideline "junkin'.

In 2008, I got a job working the front desk at a hotel. And David started building a hot dog cart. We worked the cart in NC and at a racetrack in GA.

In 2009 we left NC and headed to NM, with the food cart in tow. Vended in NM. Didn't want to spend another winter so we headed to TX. We did okay but not great. There were three of us to support. I got another job working the front desk in a hotel.

In 2010 after Memorial Day, we headed back to NM and vended there as well. David had a series of heart attacks over a weekend in 2011. Decided to try vending in Roswell. Vending got to be too much for David so I got a job with Home Depot in the spring of 2012. Went from part time (20 hours), to "open-ended" (20-40 hours) then finally fulltime.

David died last Nov. I will be leaving in Sept to head back east. I will most likely get another job with Home Depot. I am also selling a few things on eBay. I hope to eventually replace my Home Depot pay with earning from eBay. I prefer to work for myself.

When my bus is done I'll be renting out the block home I bought and have been living in for the last few years.
Heading west once its done and will look for work out in Co or Or next year once we are there.

I'm a building contractor. I build new and renovate.

I make sure I'm needed and will have work long term because I'm still not fully mobile. Then I bring all my tools, projects, bus, ect to the site.

When my bus is done and ready to role, I will take on smaller projects that keep me moving around more.

When we hit the road, I will be bringing all my tools and working as we go.

How hard is that to do up north?

With the different provinces/states not sure what they are called(sorry) is a license and insurance/bonded usable from place to place as long as it's in Canada?

Also if you get near me....beer and grill time

Yes our insurance covers us across Canada. If I don't keep a address here in Alberta, After 6 months in a new Provence I have to change my plates and license over to the new provence.

Same go's for you. If you make it up here to the snow land, beer is easy to keep cold for drinking around the coal stove.

I work retail. When I head back East with Mom I'll have a job anywhere I go, as the Regional Manager over there has heard of me and, apparently, LIKES ME.
