Working on a bus new to the forum

I have a 2001 international dt466 with 119,000 miles and I believe it's 36 feet, not sure, it was the longest I could find in Indiana. It's a winter project I have been working on for about a year when it's not 75 degrees or higher - I have little tolerance for excessive heat haha but I have insulated all new floor stripped down to the steel bottom and wire wheeled to a shine then coated with rust proof paint, insulated walls up to the bottom of windows, boxed in and insulated rear engine Bay Area, will be a nice bed spot, about to cover windows so I can build up walls to the ceiling now. I'll try to post some pics later I have quite a few of all the different stages, lots of stuff I haven't seen in detail before

Not regretting, but wishing i had insulated floor and walls to bottom of windows like you did. Next year i will.

What did you use to patch the bolt holes in the floor? What insulation did you put under the sub floor? What's your plan for water and power?

I'm still working on my seats and planning the next steps. It's nice to see what others are doing. Thanks for sharing.

I used r-19 one sided insulation rolls for the floor and used r-13 rolls for the walls. The one sided rolls are very cheap but for the r value they are great. Regular price they are 9$ and 13$ I got them on sale tho.

The holes in the floor were fun, I repurposed the screws from the walls and ceiling. I put a dab of caulk in the hole shoved the screw in and then another little dab of caulk, let that dry and then went underneath the bus and sprayed with flex seal. I think that's a little overboard but I haven't been cutting corners on air and water leaks.

As for water I am buying 2 tanks from "Class A Customs" jus google them they are cheaper by mountains of cash, have allll kinds of sizes and are made with what seems to be quality processes. Can't say for sure till I have one in my hands but yea.

Power- probably going to be buying a reconditioned forklift battery, they are the toughest batteries out there short of making a lithium ion bank which would break your bank, the battery in lookin at is 10 year warranty and 1390 amp hours at the 20 hour rate so plenty of juice for $1600 shipped to my door and unloaded. Also trying to find a very small propane generator to top things off when I need, would love to buy the "weekender" 160 watt solar kit from go power but sadly I think that's out of grasp haha. If I can find a good/cheap propane fridge and heaters then I won't need so much battery or solar so hopefully I will.

Personally, I would avoid any propane fridge. They are twitchy and can be very problematic. Just Google RV fires and propane refrigerators.

Welcome Kpendy I'm new here too, I have a 1998 Amtran RE 35' or 36' haven't measured. But the interior at the back of your bus is exactly like mine and I have been wondering what to do with the weird shaped engine cover. I see you made it look awesome, I would really love to see more pictures if you have them of your work on that area. Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated.
