How many here used to camp Yosemite BITD, back when it had some really cool stuff going on, like the Fire Fall. As a kid growing up in the bay area in the early 60's, every summer Dad would pack us up and pitch camp at Yosemite, FOR THE SUMMER, yee haw. He would get up and go to work from the tent while Mom stayed with us 6 kids. I remember looking in the river and seeing a rock that looked about 2' across, stick your head in the water with a mask and see that rock is huge and 40' deep. Clearest water I can remember. Wildlife roaming the campsites every night, including bears. I spent a couple days there in the late 70's sky diving off Half Dome and could already notice the change. I hear it's nothing like I remember now. I wanted to take my daughter there and to see the giant Sequoias. Like to get a pic of the bus coming through a sequoia, but the tunnels aren't that big.:whistling:

IDK about back in the good old days, although I’ve heard the stories. It’s still just absolutely stunning, just really crowded in the parking lots. That valley is still amazing and worth seeing. No firefalls. Water is still crystal clear.

My wife's grandfather used to be the minister at the chapel in Yosemite Valley. For years he was the person who called "let the fire fall". This was Way BITD- late 40s-1950s. Like Danjo said, way crowded now, but still amazing. "Let the skoolie roll"
